THE BASICS

We can't tell you how ecstatic we are that you're considering opening your loving home to our fur babies in need!

Before we dive into the available cuties, let's go over a few basics:

  • Adopters must be 18+ years old.

  • All rodents that are able will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption.

  • Rodents will not come with housing, food, supplies, etc. unless noted.

  • Rodents will be picked up in Franklin, IN unless otherwise discussed.

  • Rats are social pets and must be adopted in pairs or go to a home with others.

  • Our rodents are pets only - we put a lot of effort into ensuring our adoptable critters have good temperaments, clean bills of health, and are well taken care of prior to leaving our care. There are multiple resources out there to acquire non-pet rodents. For this reason, we ask that ours not be used as food or as breeders.

THE APPLICATION

If you've made it this far that means a special someone must have caught your eye, that's fantastic! Below we'll go over the adoption donation options and the application process.

The adoption donation options are as follows:

  • Rat Pair: $50

  • Two or more Rats: $20 per

  • Single Rat: $30

  • Female Mouse Pair: $15

  • Single Mouse: $10

  • Hamster: $20

We ask for these donations to help cover the cost of caring for each animal we provide for at the rescue.

The application process:

If you understand the basics, you've found a critter that's caught your eye, the donation is within your means and you're ready to submit an application - please consider one last set of things, the reasons you might consider surrendering them in the future.

The majority of rodents live relatively short lifespans 2-3 years, some even less. For that reason, we want to do our best to make sure that when they leave us, they go to their forever homes.

Common reasons people surrender pets:

  • Loss of interest.

  • Not enough time.

  • New job.

  • New baby.

  • Family conflict,

  • Moving.

  • Allergies.

  • Financial burden.

  • Etc.

If you're up for the wonderfully rewarding challenge, then you're ready to take the next step and submit your application. We look forward to uniting you with your new companion!
