FOSTER

Foster an Animal

We are always looking for foster parents! We wouldn't be able to help nearly as many animals if it wasn't for the generosity of volunteers like you who are willing to open their homes and their hearts to animals in need.

When a foster family takes one or more of our animals into their care, they are taking on the responsibility of housing them, feeding them, and looking out for their overall well-being.

We will do our best to provide initial supplies for your foster pet when you first receive it should we have them available at the time. If not, we will provide a list of what's required.

Any cost you cover while providing for your foster is considered tax-deducible, as well as any mileage you drive while transporting them.

We do have a few policies and responsibilities for our potential foster parents to consider before applying.

Foster Parent Policies:

  • Must be 18 years or older to be the primary foster.

  • Must have consent from landlord/roommates/family etc. prior to fostering.

  • Must provide the best care possible while the animal is in your care, including adequate housing, diet, socialization, and medical care if needed.

  • Must ensure foster pets are kept separate from resident pets to avoid any illness or injury.

  • Must alert the rescue at the first sign of illness or injury.

Foster Parent Responsibilities

  • Complete weekly check-ins.

  • Provide food, housing, and enrichment for all fosters in your care.

  • Over see the general well-being of your fosters.

  • Work with rescue to coordinate veterinary and potential adopter appointments.

  • Provide photos regularly.

  • Provide information on temperament/likes/dislikes.

  • Share marketing material to help your fosters get adopted.

  • Be kind.

Consider fostering an animal for us until we can find a forever home for them. We'll provide the medical care, your provide the loving home.
